On the move...kinda.
This kid practically refuses to crawl. I put him on all fours and he immediately pushes back to sit on his bottom. Oh, but he gets from point A to B when he wants. He scoots and wiggles until he gets there. And he alllways wants to stand.
He tried really hard to pull up on the couch this day. He never did it. And since therapy discourages walking before crawling, I didn't help him. Well, yesterday he did it. And the smile that he had after he did it was priceless!!!

Did I mention he wants to pull up on everything!!He looks so little next to his big toy box.

Random, smiley baby.

And this is how he goes from laying to sitting. Right about this point he gets fussy until he figures it out a few seconds later. I hate to say it but it's quite comical.

Even though we aren't officially crawling yet, I think it's time to start baby proofing things!

Another example. He started out in the middle of the blue blanket...
And without actually crawling he ended up over by the chest, pulled himself up...
And walked sideways all the way around it. That is Kita in the bottom right of the picture. I'm pretty sure that was his motivation. Kita is no fool, as soon as he got close she took off. I don't think she is his biggest fan. But him and Scruff have become best buds.

Shew! That was a lot of catching up. Couple more months Bricen will be a year old! I haven't decided what kind of birthday we are doing. This will probably be the only birthday I get to decided. I was considering a cowboy theme because he likes to take that feeding tube and swing it around like a lasso. I was also considering a Charlie Brown birthday because he always has to have his comfort rag with him and it makes me think of Linus on Charlie Brown. I haven't made up my mind. We did talk to speech therapy about ways to prepare to hopefully he can eat birthday cake on the big day! I've got some banana bread to make (his favorite flavor) and then we are going to get it soggy with either formula or pudding and let him play around with it. Sounds gross, huh. lol
That's about it for now. We are going to focus on eating and growing. :0) Love this little guy. One last funny story. I was rocking Bricen, singing to him. And we all know usually he sucks on his pointer finger but this time he wanted that pointer finger in my mouth. When I would move so it wasn't he would get frustrated. Funny kid. So, of course I was trying to rock and sing with a finger in my mouth for a few minutes. I'm sure I looked like a fool.
Misc catch up.....
Well, I was at the grocery store, frustrated and discouraged with Bricen's feeding and losing wt. This led me to the chocolate pudding, And it was a hit! As you can see, he had it from head to toe.

No good reason for these pictures. I just thought he was having an exceptionally handsome day this day. It's getting harder to take a picture because he doesn't sit still. More on that to come though.

:( Probably the first of many bumps. He got in a fight with the bathroom floor.

Again, no reason, he just looked so cute.

I've decided almost a year later that Bricen's room needed something on the walls. Really, we've just had so much other stuff going on that this has been put on the back burner. Anywho, Marty and Craig put this sign together for us. We love it!

Bricen scooted all the way over so he could help Daddy get the sign ready to hang. We might have a future plumber on our hands. He's already got the pants part down!

Marty and Bricen have been playing a lot of lincoln logs, or rather Marty has been playing a lot of lincoln logs. I hope Bricen is prepared to share his toys with his Dad. :0)
Play date...
We had a play date at the park! I thought Bricen might like the swings since he loves it when Daddy swings him back and forth in his Johnny Jumper.
We went with a co worker and her kids. this is miss Kylie in the picture. She (and her sister) were dolls and very well behaved.

Brilynn wanted to try out the baby swing. It didn't work out so well for her. :0)

We visited Chelsi in her classroom one afternoon. Bricen loved it because there was so much for him to look around at. Everyone was posting back to schl pics on fb and I was already getting nervous about sending this little guy to Kindergarten! lol

Grandma Delpha...
We've had a few good visits with Grandma Delpha. I've been meaning to post a picture of this. It's a table at Grandma/s. Since Bricen was born his pictures have been on this table with the Jesus statue by them. Grandma says it's so Jesus can watch over him. (Please note, Grandma doesn't think Jesus lives in the statue, she was just being sweet/funny.) The middle picture has recently been added. It's Dereck n Tiff's ultrasound picture. Tiff is in her second trimester now. Won't be long, we will be finding out if it's a boy or girl. I'm betting it's a girl.

His shirt says "If you think I'm good looking, you should see my Grandma." If this doesn't fit the sass that comes from Grandma Delpha, idk what would. :0)

Other than the no more monitor picture, this is my second favorite picture. She will kill me when she sees it. Hahaha.

Other visitors...
I should add that most of Marty's family visits when I'm at work and Marty just isn't as good at taking pictures (it's a guy thing.) But Bricen enjoys visits from Marty's mom almost every weekend. And, she usually is not empty handed. This might get expensive now that she is adding two more grandbabies to the mix.
Brett and Brilynn had been out of town for a few days so they stopped by to get a Bricen fix. Brett had just gotten some new football gear, so he wanted to try it on for us.

Poor Bricen is going to have some adjusting to do once his new cousin gets here. He won't be center of attention anymore. haha

Chelsi and Chris took a Friday night to head to Baby's R Us with us. Bricen and Chris had to try out some furniture. I promise he was more excited about it than this picture looks. Haha

Wow...
As in, wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I updated the blog! Slacker. Let's get the medical hoopla out of the way. We had a few Dr appointments.

Brittani was our driver for this appointment. We were happy to get to spend a little time with her. She moved into her dorm this week. (Yes, it's just in Indianapolis, but I feel like she moved to Maine.) So proud of her.

This was at the Pulmonologist, getting his oxygen level checked. Apparently, he thought the lady needed some help working her machine.

We went to the Chiropractor for the first time. It seems to help reflux in some babies. I can't really tell that it did much for Bricen.

I love this picture!!
Pulmonologist downloaded the monitor one last time while we were there. She called back a couple days later and said we could get rid of the monitor!!! Woowhoo! I did have a little bit of a hard time falling asleep the first few nights off the monitor. But I have confidence in the NP that we had been seeing from Pulmonary and I have confidence in medicine but most of all I have to just trust God to watch over him. I don't want to sound ungrateful for this particular answered prayer but I can nooooot wait for the the day that we can say goodbye to the feeding pump.
We also saw speech therapy. To sum things up, I think we got a little too aggressive with our feeding trials and Bricen started losing weight. Everyday it was another ounce or two. I will admit the weight loss was stressing this Mama out! We've made some changes and the scale is going in the right direction. Of course, a lot slower than it was coming off. :0) Lots more to catch up on.
