Look at Me...
That's right. I'm posting again and it has not been a month since my last post. I've figured out that looking back at the blog, even I prefer the post that have more pictures and less rambling. :)
One of his favorite things to do is push the buttons on the washing machine because it does a little jingle when you turn it on.
This little guy has been doing great! He went about a week and a half with no throw ups, he's been making progress with the new therapy and his oral eating. He still is not getting quantity in but I can tell he is taking steps in the right direction. For example, I've never had to worry about him putting things he found on the floor or anywhere else in his mouth. He would always pick it up and hand it to me. Everything is going in his mouth these days. Everything. Dorrito crumbs, baby magic soap dispenser, etc etc. I suppose it's time for me to find the number to the poison control center just in case I need it.
Last week we worked on fruit loops. He eventually picked up pieces himself and was putting them in his mouth with very minimal gagging. I was amazed. Yes, they ended up soggy and and on his shirt but I was still impressed. He has also been carrying around his sippy cup like a "normal" kid. I am not taking these things for granted. I have to just stop a minute and stare at him and thank God for his progress when it does come.
These days he is very into sitting on the couch. You can't see his hands because he is clapping for himself because he is sitting on his bottom instead of standing.
Brittani is home on spring break from college. She went with us to a Dr appointment (his last synagis injection) and then we went to Bob Evans. This is probably only four times Bricen has been out to eat. It is a work in progress. :0)
Other than my sister, Bridget, who was very similar to taking care of a baby (she wore diapers, we fed her, etc) this college chic is where I learned a lot about taking care of babies. Don't get me wrong, I am no expert. Haha But I love her so much and still have a hard time believing she is in nursing school and getting married in July. And it makes me feel old, very old.
I have another picture of Bricen and the mess Brittani let him make on the table with her food but I can't get it to load for whatever reason. I will just say It's obvious Bricen's cousins spoil him.
Don't judge me by the background. We were still in the process of bleaching his clothes and toys in his room. And he has a new love for destroying piles of folded laundry and finding allll the comfort rags in the pile and trying to carry them all around with him.
He is growing! I'm ready for either the season to change or his size to change because I'm tired of the same old outfits. These are twelve month pj's from Grandma Juanita. His first time wearing (and fitting in) twelve mo pj's. Why is this a big deal and why am I blogging about it? Because he's 17 mo old. :0)

Juanita also made dinner the night of my birthday. Tiff and Dereck brought me by a cupcake. Here is another example of the small improvements I'm seeing from Bricen. His birthday in October, five months prior, he would not touch a cake. Literally, would not touch it. He went to town (mostly playing) in my cupcake. Therapy tells me play is a very important step to get him to eating the food. I'll clean up a little mess and do just about anything else if it means we can get rid of these tube feeds. What better birthday present for me? These pictures and this very messy kid playing in this cupcake means more to me than I can even express. He broke his no puke run last night. I pray it isn't the start of puking again but even if it is I am still thankful for the week and a half we had puke free. We needed it!!

We went bowling, aka Brilynn and I chased Bricen around the bowling ally while the guys bowled. He was determined to pick this ball up. Haha. His hair is getting thick (another sign of good nutrition).
He is at that stage where he wants to see what I'm doing and be a part of it. You know, where he pushes with all his 17 lb might to wedge himself between me and the counter and then looks up at you with those eyes and raises his arm towards you. And there you have it, he has started helping me wash his dishes.
We went over and met Lyla. At first Bricen didn't really care about Lyla. He looked at her, smiled and went on with his business. He was a little jealous though because he would want in mine or Brilynn's lap if we were holding her.
Other than all this, Bricen is just busy getting into trouble. He's getting prettty good at it. :0)
And now...with great pleasure I post these pictures....
Oh my Brilynn. Her favorite thing to do is get my phone and take literally 10-20 pics of herself doing stupid stuff. I thought she might want to be able to remember and look back on this stage of her life down the road. Your Welcome.
