Big Little News

Bricen is being promoted to big brother effective March 2015! While I'm pretty sure I could stop talking about the baby and he would forget about it too, he is already a good big brother. He likes to kiss my belly and tries to look in my belly button and talk into my belly button when we talk about the baby. He's just not sure why he doesn't see anything in there!

So we got this shirt the same day we picked up the pregnancy test. We had been trying for a couple months. Something told me it was time to get that shirt!

He had the shirt on when daddy got home from work. His reaction "Why you wearing that?" Silly daddy. It's better than his reaction when I told him I was pregnant with Bricen. He was upset that I woke him up and had a stick with pee on it in his face. (What's the big deal?) ;) We kept it a secret from Daddy when I took the test til the next day.  I wanted to plan the whole thing out with him coming home from work and Bricen having the shirt on. Wanted Bricen to be a part of it. Of course, he was late getting home and it was driving me crazy with a capital C!

My family is pretty good at going to tell people big news in person. So off we went to tell the fam. We walked in "just to visit" and waited for them to notice the shirt. A few of them it took a minute or two. We face timed a few. Marty wanted to tell his mom and his family on Bob's birthday. It was more than hard to keep this a secret. We had an "argument" in the kitchen while whispering one night that his mom was over for dinner. I was trying to get him to tell her early, before we all got together for Bob's birthday. His response was "No, she will cry." haha It was kind of cute. He had it planned out how he wanted to do it. He said he would take Bricen in the other room to change his shirt and then come out and just let someone notice. Of course, Aunt Crystal noticed first. She is pretty on top of things. lol

Grandma Delpha was the first family to know the sex. She is good at keeping secrets. I love that we got to take this picture in front of grandmas big tree in her front yard. We had gotten books from the library about being a big brother before we were pregnant too. I knew it would happen, it would just be in God's timing, not ours.

This is why you should not take your toddler with you to the OB. He will use the stirrups as a fling for his fish.

So we are at 21 1/2 weeks now. We know it's a girl. Bricen was so not feeling this picture! We decided on Brevyn for a first name. Haven't set a middle name yet but I'm thinking Grace. :)

We have an ultrasound today. We had our initial ultrasound with my OB and the pic above was with the high risk. We had some testing and everything was great, thank Jesus. It was right around this point we learned of my low amniotic fluid with Bricen. I'm more than slightly nervous but am anxious to have the ultrasound today and hopefully get the all ok from the Dr.
Tid bits about this pregnancy. I puked and have had more nausea with this one that I did Bricen. In the beginning nothing tasted good while with Bricen everything I tasted seemed like the best version of that food I had ever had in my entire life!! I am loving salty food. Which does not bode well for my pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. (Partly the reason it has been so long since I've updated-I currently can't feel the first three fingers on both hands. lol) And I have a new found love for ketchup!
I am getting super excited for baby dolls and Disney fairies and all things girls! We already have a theme for the nursery just have to put some work into rearranging some things to get it ready.
The best part so far is that I can feel this sweet girl move. I never once felt Bricen. Low amniotic fluid and an anterior placenta will do that for you. It was around 19 weeks, Halloween night and I felt her move. First it was a couple kicks to the bladder. Then it was a few more kicks to my belly. I think Brevyn Grace liked the Halloween candy! I've felt her everyday since.
So thankful and blessed. Can't wait to post Halloween pictures. It was a good night.

(I vow to be better at updates. I had a hard time remembering how things went down to post this stuff. It's the details that will make great memories down the road and the reason I keep this blog.)
