As I mentioned before, we went to the Zoo with Friends from work last week. We had a blast!
This little stud muffin even slept in so I could get ready without him trying to help.
What a crew! Nine of us from ICU and one gal brought a friend along for the ride as well. Oh, and let's not forget ten kids all below school age! Our pharmacist (the best pharmacist ever!) came along and took some fantastic pictures for us!
I'm not sure if Bricen liked being at the Zoo but I know he loved being outside! He was using all his muscles to push the stroller. The only animal I saw him have any reaction to was the Tiger. I don't know if that was because the tiger came the closest, rubbing his face against the glass or because the tiger looked similar to Kita?
Bricen and Lee. I suppose he wanted to be in that specific spot and no where else because he just wedged himself between the rock and Lee.
Oh how I love those blue eyes.
About half of us ended up being late. It worked out though because so many of us were running late. Sophia was one of the fashionably late ones that day. :0)
My husband hates that I use this. It's more of a safety precaution than anything. I guess I might have watched a little too many crime shows involving kiddos being abducted. Little irrational at times, I admit. Haha. Bricen loves his puppy dog and Sophia loved it as well. It did however warm up and I thought it was probably adding heat so we didn't use it for long.
Love Love Love
Thrilled. He is so thrilled to be getting his picture taken here. Oh my pumpkin, get use to it. :0)
Found some dirt, I'm good mom.
I love Butterflies. My sister and I each have a story involving butterflies that helped to bring us comfort after my mom passed away. My mom passed away in July 2007 and I started nursing school that August. That first semester in particular was incredibly hard. I was having a rough day and on my way to class bawling like a baby. I turned on a country road and started seeing a ton of butterflies. By the time I started counting to the end of the short road I saw close to thirty butterflies! I shared this story with my Aunt and she shared with me that my sister had a "butterfly story" of her own and that I needed to talk to her. Now, do I believe my mom is in the butterflies now? No. But I do think God can use nature to bring us comfort in times of need. So here we are, my little man checking out the butterflies. Warms my heart.
You remember that first picture of all the kiddos sitting in the stroller all nice and pretty? This was at the end of our trip! This picture cracks me up!
While we had an awesome time I must confess... I almost didn't mention this but I try to keep the blog real so here it is. While Bricen's vomiting wasn't bad Monday (I had no indication he wouldn't keep anything in Tuesday), by Tuesday at the Zoo he wasn't keeping full feeds in. So we are at the cafe and Bricen has a throw up. We handled it and as I was trying to comfort him I started glancing around at all our friends feeding their babies. I was almost amazed at the babies opening their mouths and taking spoonfuls of baby food, actually leaning in towards the spoon. The babies were actually picking up food, eating it and swallowing it. Haha I know it sounds so basic but I was seriously amazed. I know, it sounds stupid. For half a second I had to fight back tears. The moment passed quickly and I pulled myself together. And we could not ask for a better group of girls. We had some sweet friends to help me regroup and on with the day we went. One of these days my kid is going to eat like a champ. And by George, when he starts eating I'm never gonna make him stop. haha We will send him to fat camp if we need to, he can just keep right on eating. :0)
