The next morning Santa came to see Bricen. He must have been a very good boy because Santa was very good to him. Bricen woke up very early, before six am. I considered letting him get up then but decided the joy I would get out of him waking Marty up that early was not worth me missing out on that sleep. I gave him half a feed and he fell back asleep.
This pretty girl did not want to miss a thing. She was there to supervise. Aaand she sat like a lady with her legs crossed while doing so.
These are the pictures I am most saddened by. They aren't the best quality but he will only open Santa at two yrs old once so by George they are going in here! Haha. We did not have any presents under the tree prior to this. Mostly because of the train track that goes under the tree but also because of a curious two yr old named Bricen. So he was pretty excited when he woke up and saw them. He went straight for the stocking first.
He took it to Daddy. Marty would take a gift out and hand it to him and he took each one and set them in a pile as you see in the picture. It was the funniest thing. Love watching his little mind work.
He wanted assistance with most of the other gifts as well.
Daddy has enjoyed Santa's gifts too.
We later headed for Marty's sister's for Christmas with his side. I was trying to get a picture of Bricen in his handsome sweater but this is all I got. He does not keep that finger in his mouth all the time nor does he play w/my eyebrow all the time but if he is sleepy, all bets are off! :0) I have no pictures of Christmas at Crystals. I learned my lesson by then. I did take some good videos though. I will admit, the camera is good for videos and that's the only reason I have not returned it.
Brent and Shanyn announced while we were at Christmas that they are expecting! Yay for them! And Crystal found out today she is having a girl! Holy canoli, can you believe it?! Bricen has five cousins on that side now and they are all boys! Bring on the pink! I'm excited to fast forward a few years and think about what those Christmas gatherings will be like with all the kiddos. Fun times.
We had a great New Years. I (again) "hosted" my sister and family. Brilynn was here to spend the day with us and (again) saved the day. I just get too many big ideas, thinking I have time to do all this stuff and then I don't. lol I think it's a mom thing.
I had the best time I have had in awhile. I usually am cleaning as people are finishing up eating, etc but I simply enjoyed the night. We sang karaoke and played a mean game of spoons as well as some other games. Nothing big, just good times.
The next morning Marty and I cracked up at this. We joked that one would think we were all drunk.
Bricen had his play microphone for karaoke.
I wanted to make sure I had food to offer Bricen that was wheat, milk and egg free since we would be eating things that weren't safe for him.
He helped me make chocolate (safe chocolate) dipped (gluten free) pretzels. I'm pretty sure he never actually ate one or even put it in his mouth but it was fun making them! And of course therapy would say it was "therapeutic".
